Mini Estate Sale End Run

So, with all the changes in my computer/phone/tablet, etc., in addition to programs I have used in the past; i.e., Craigslist, Periodical Classifieds, etc., it seems it's almost impossible to upload/post pictures of items offered for sale without paying a tidy sum, relinquishing an arm or a leg, or promising you my first born.

With the sale looming this weekend, I am trying an alternate route; i.e., "End Run."  Let's see if this works.  Please note that I am listing pictures of items offered here from a link in the aforementioned venues.

Wish me luck!

Is it Really Almost Christmas?

Time passes more quickly as you get older
or, at least, it certainly seems that way to me.

This month a friend and I planned for Scott Antique Market and
I wanted to include a vintage chest that I bought several years ago and had been thinking about painting as a *suitcase* chest.

Part Deux - Eventide in the Garden

Life doesn't get much better than lower temps and humidity in the South
while enjoying the company of a good friend.
Unless you're looking at flowers.

Flowers there were...
and looking we did.

Eventide in the Garden

Late July is usually pretty miserable in the South but we have a reprieve this week.
Darn near perfect weather for an evening stroll through some of the most amazing acreage in Atlanta, replete with living sculptures of real and mythical creatures.

My Mantel and Hearth 15 Different Ways

I did several mantel groupings in preparation for Haven 2014,
that I left in my phone until today.
My bad.

This is my mantel normally, since discarding a gallery wall and needing a place for my large brass rubbing.
A mirror here won't work because there's already a mirror wall in the dining area and a floor to ceiling mirror behind the sofa.

I know it's a dark room but a girl can only have so many mirrors before neighbors start to talk.

Spring Can't Come Soon Enough

I feel as if I'm in a worm hole where time's either standing still...
or hurdling me forward at warp speed.

First, I was hibernating...
Then, a couple of weeks ago, I agreed to work full-time for a month...
More than full-time, actually... some are 14-hour days.
Now I feel like Alice falling down the proverbial rabbit hole!

Speaking of rabbits...
(I know... really bad segue.)
Isn't this the cutest thing you've ever seen?

Winter Doldrums and My Expanding To-Do List

2014 is off to a very s-l-o-w start.
Partly because of the weather.
The *snow* days and holidays interfered with my momentum.
But *probably* I'm just hibernating.
After all, this is Metro Atlanta...
And we don't do *snow* days.

Today, I stood and watched my neighbors build a snowman.

I didn't participate.
I didn't even take the picture.
I cajoled my neighbor into taking it for me..
I know... that's just wrong.

Once Upon A Blog -- The Best of 2013

You know how it is, right, the excitement of a new venture, mind spinning with ideas,
then finding yourself wondering whether you're on the right track?
That's me...  personified.

August 2013 was when I got serious about blogging...
and I've come a long way only to realize I've barely scratched the surface.
Cold winter days are time for reflection...
So here you have it...
A visual and verbal journey of our most popular posts.

No. 10

My all-time favorite purchase.

My Half Bath Renovation - Part Deux

I realize I’m often influenced by my surroundings.  My home, while a reflection of me, takes on differing personas as a direct result of those influences.  Ours is a symbiotic relationship — I create and nurture my home environment and it nurtures and encourages creativity in me.  Home provides the quiet space I need to allow ideas to form and roam free.

The Armoire That Started It All

Back in the '70s my husband and I bought new bedroom furniture, Bishopsgate by Drexel.
I loved it then and I still love it now, although it looks quite a bit different.
But, then, things change, right?
My life, my profession, my home town, and my furnishings.

Gingerbread Galore -- Savannah Style

Traveling to Courtney's for Christmas...
I met them in Savannah where they were ice skating at the Civic Center...
Something of a tradition...
Celebrating Courtney and her husband's first date 22 years ago...

Courtney was *awesome* ... more here...

Of course, she always has been...
But she's finally laying claim to her awesome-ness...

Then to the Westin to see the entries in the Gingerbread Competition...
Another *awesome* display...

Discovering ADAC -- Atlanta's Decorative Arts Center

A couple of weeks ago, I accompanied my friend Nancy to a VIP Tour, Welcome to ADAC soiree.  And *soiree* is really the only word that seems to fit.

Kerry Howard of KMH Interiors invited clients and their guests to tour some of his favorite showrooms at the place in Atlanta...  ADAC...  the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center... more here.  Selling "to the trade" ADAC has been the most exclusive private club in town since it's inception, finally opening their doors to the public in October of 2012.

French Provincial Painted Dresser

It was love at first sight...

I may have blinked a little at the price but I knew exactly what finish it needed.
No hesitation...
No "Let me think about it..."

Country Living Fair -- Southern Style

Fall finally arrived in Metro Atlanta, along with the opening of the Country Living Fair this past weekend.
Not just cooler but downright COLD.  Mid 30's at Stone Mountain on Friday, and it didn't begin to warm until after lunch.

Painted Upholstered French Twin Bed

I found an incredible Louis XV twin bed at an estate sale for a price that I could live with and in a style I couldn't resist.
