Country Living Fair -- Southern Style

Fall finally arrived in Metro Atlanta, along with the opening of the Country Living Fair this past weekend.
Not just cooler but downright COLD.  Mid 30's at Stone Mountain on Friday, and it didn't begin to warm until after lunch.

I've wanted to go for what seems like forever but something always interfered.  Finally, this year, it was time... and it didn't disappoint.  It is absolutely, without a doubt, an Antiquer's, Junker's, Picker's, Crafter's delight.

For  me, painting furniture has gone from a hobby to an obsession and I'm always on the lookout for what's new.  The metallics in the Country Living Artisans Collection are to die for.  And I do love metallics!

I just had to stop for this table situated among the trees and positively glowing in the sun's rays.  They were wonderful to allow photographs.  And I always ask... :-)

I had to stop again when I spotted this chair with a chicken wire back.  It was used to display  jewelry ... earrings and necklaces attached to the chicken wire.
So clever...

After the first "loop" of vendors we headed to the Food Court, stopping at "Cash and Cari."
So much for beating the lunch crowd...

We ate sharing a picnic table with three lovely ladies from Camilla, Georgia.  When I asked where they were from they laughed and said I wouldn't recognize the town.  But I did.  Once upon a time, a lovely girl from there married my then husband's best friend.  And these three ladies know Frederick and his wife...

I'm beginning to think "six degrees of separation" is an overestimation ... even after several decades, I managed to meet someone new who knows someone I once was close to.  Imagine that... it's a small world, indeed.

I could have spent hours with this vendor.  I love this Baby Bath sitting in the sun with bittersweet and corn in it...

... As well as the Iron Fountain and huge Champagne Riddling Rack.

How I love these pieces of history!
And what's not to love about champagne?
Never having acquired a taste for beer champagne's my beverage of choice...  ;-)

There's something magical about a woodsy vignette with lighted chandeliers...

And, of course, I stopped for this, mon cherie.  How could I not?
When I finish growing up I will have a French chaise.

I love seeing all the wonderful displays and was especially taken with this "entrance" ...
I purchased ceiling tins from this vendor last year... you can learn more about her HERE...

Maybe I've been reading too many Medieval romances but you have to admit there's something uber-special about vintage nightgowns in a woodland setting.

If we could have carried this marble urn to the car one of us would have bought it... maybe even come to blows over it...  :-)

... And I would have bought all these balusters to hold candles and plants.

But, in the end, I made only two purchases... Cabin on the Hill had berry baskets from upstate New York that I couldn't resist...

As well as these wooden letters... my piece de resistance...

... for Winnow and Spruce... of course.

Heather of At the Picket Fence and Beth of Unskinny Boppy were presenters on Saturday, and a number of Atlanta area bloggers were there to support them.  I'll have to time my visit a little better next year... but I'll definitely be there.

I'm curious...
Have you ever attended a Country Living Fair?
Or maybe even this one?
I'd love to hear about it.  Seriously.

In the meantime, thanks for stopping by...

  4. Reduced price mattresses are the best option when it comes time to purchase a new mattress set, however do not sacrifice quality for price - a restful night's sleep depends on a wise choice. cheap truck mattress
