Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood and Drying Hydrangeas

Today began at 8:30 with some friends (my neighbors) getting together for a PSO (Planned Sunday Outing)  to Revolution Donuts in Decatur.  It was my first time there but my neighbors have been raving about it. Know how a lot of times places don't live up to the hype?  Not so today.  I loved it.  Especially the salted caramel  bacon donut I chose.  Salted.Caramel.Bacon.  No pictures (too busy moaning about how fabulous it was) but you can check them out ... here ....

Monthly Inspiration - Scott's Antique Market

After leaving the DMCH Flea Market here Scott's Antique Market was next.  The second weekend of every month is one of my all-time favorite things. There are 3,300 vendors in two huge buildings with everything you can imagine for sale.  I fell in love with this vendor's booth.  Fell. In. Love.

UMCH Flea Market

Yesterday, a friend and I began our day at the United Methodist Children's Home in Decatur, GA. I didn't even know the campus was here much less that they hold fabulous flea markets two or three times a year.

Repairing with plaster moulding - Part 2

When I discovered I enjoyed making plaster mouldings I finally felt up to tackling a French armoire I had purchased more than a year before.  In the antique/flea/junk shop it was all but hidden behind tons of stuff and the lighting was almost non-existent.  Once it was delivered to my home all I could think of was "What was I thinking?"  This was way past my skill set.  So I left it sitting right where I saw it every day, reminding me to be more careful what I buy in the future.

Repairing with plaster moulding

When I bought a damaged gilt mirror I thought repairing it would be a snap.  All it needed was a little cording and some paint and I could make it look good as new.   Au contraire.  The cording soaked up the glue and began to disintegrate.  I tried again with different cording material but the same thing happened.
